Thanks for posting! I have an RSS feed to your blog and enjoy your comments and photographs.

I agree with much of what you've expressed about religion, especially the sentiments that many religions have different pieces of the truth puzzle. My pastor once equated it to ice cream: most of us like ice cream, but we like LOTS of different flavors! I'm a "cradle Lutheran," but I prefer not to "play God" by saying my particular denomination has all the answers for everyone. It's just the denominational base from which I am most comfortable searching for God.

I do think that the "genius" or "spirit within" to which Emerson refers is truly GOD in us. We obviously differ in our beliefs about Jesus as God's Son, but it's ok to disagree, right? (-:

I interpret the golden rule in light of one interpretation of Jesus' words: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and mind and love your neighbor as yourself." I think the loving ourselves part - and I mean TRULY loving ourselves in a deep, respectful way - is the hidden hard, HARD part of this "greatest commandment." After all, most of us are our own worst critics. If we could only see ourselves as God sees us...

As for why skunk cabbage might be your top search engine term: I bet you have a picture of skunk cabbage somewhere on your site! My top search engine term is DODGE CHARGER (as in, the car!), ostensibly because I used a picture of one in my blog (http://12amusings.wordpress.com/2007/10/19/baby-you-can-drive-my-car/) ven though the post had little to do with cars.

I finally tried actually writing a POST about said type of car (http://12amusings.wordpress.com/2008/04/11/dodge-charger/) in a blatant attempt to increase my blog traffic, but it didn't work. Apparently, the picture's the thing. Oh well!

Thanks again for this blog. Have a wonderful day!
